Effective Monday August 1, 2016 the process for creating PHR retiree affiliate records in the PHR affiliate system will be handled by UHR-Benefits. Campus units will no longer create retiree affiliate records in the PHR Affiliate system. Specifically, when a university employee separates from employment due to retirement, UHR-Benefits will automatically create affiliate retiree records in the PHR Affiliates system. Once created, these records will be effective for 5 years at which time UHR-Benefits will renew the record unless otherwise directed by the retiree or the last employing unit. All current retiree affiliate records have been data converted to the UHR unit and all expiration dates have been extended to 5 years from effective date. The affiliate retiree record will allow the retiree the same standard services including:
- Directory ID
- Library Services
- IT email
Affiliate retiree records should be created in PHR Affiliates within 30 days of the employees retirement date by UHR-Benefits staff. If you questions concerning retiree affiliate records, please contact Stacy Sims at 301-405-5657.
