Advertising Positions

A critical component of any search is the recruitment/advertising strategy which should be discussed prior to posting.  The University is committed to casting our recruitment nets as broadly as possible to ensure a diverse pool of candidates.

When advertising, it is recommended that you consider advertising in a variety of publications and professional organizations. Many publications and organizations advertise staff positions for women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans. Advertising in appropriate publications and contacting relevant organizations will not only assist in enlarging the applicant pool, but will also convey the commitment of the campus and the department to recruit women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.

In addition to the position information such as the minimum qualifications, job description, how to apply etc., the ad must also include the approved University of Maryland, College Park EEO statement.  It is not acceptable for departments to add their own EEO statement.

Approved EEO Statement:
