Holiday Leave Usage For PPD 14

A few reminders as you approve time/leave records for Pay Period 201714, December 25 2016 – January 7, 2017:


Holiday usage for Winter Break was prepopulated for leave earning employees using up to 48 hours of available holiday hours accrued this pay period and throughout 2016. Only Supervisors have the ability to remove/add holiday hours

Full time leave earning employees who were employed on or before February 15, 2016 should have 56 hours of holiday leave accrued for usage during Pay Period 201714, December 25, 2016 – January 7, 2017

Employees who have an employment start date after February 15, 2016 (President’s Day 2016) should have their time/leave records reviewed. If necessary, holiday hours should be adjusted using personal or annual leave based on the holiday schedule below and the employee’s start date. For example, if an employee has a start date after February 15, 2016 the holiday hours for December 27 should be removed and replaced with personal or annual leave

Pay Period 201714 Holiday Usage Schedule
December 26 – Christmas Day (accrued December 25, 2016)
December 27 – President’s Day (accrued on February 15, 2016)
December 28 – Columbus Day (accrued on October 10, 2016)
December 29 – Veteran’s Day (accrued on November 11, 2016)
December 30 – University Holiday (accrued on December 30)
January 2, 2017 – New Year’s Day (accrued on January 1, 2017)

All full time leave earning employees who started employment on or before November 8, 2016 should have 8 hours remaining in their holiday bank at the end of pay period 14. This is the Election Day holiday that was earned on November 8 and will be observed during Spring Break on March 22, 2017

Part time employees time/leave records were per populated based on their FTE. Adjustments should be made according to their work schedule if necessary


The maximum number of annual leave days that all regular, leave eligible, full time (100%) employees may carry forward into the next calendar year is 50 (400 hours). Leave in excess of the maximum amount must be used by January 7, 2016 (the close of Pay Period 14. Personal leave for 2016 cannot be carried into 2017


Employees who had scheduled annual leave or personal leave on 12/23/2016 and who are in a “use or lose” situation will have until 1/21/2017 (end of pay period 15) to use the day of scheduled annual or personal leave displaced by the closure of the campus on 12/23/2016.
