The maximum amount of annual leave that any 100% (full time) leave earning employee may carry over into the next calendar year is 50 days 400 hrs. This carry over maximum is prorated for any faculty or staff employee appointed at less than 100% (part time) based on the employee’s FTE. For example, a 50% employee can carry over 25 days (200 hours). Annual leave in excess of 50 days, or the prorated amount for less than 100%, will be forfeited. Additionally, unused personal leave days are also forfeited.
For calendar year 2013, the cut-off date to use up annual leave and personal leave is January 11, 2014 (end of Pay Period 14). Employees will have until this date to record any unused annual and/or personal leave on their PHR time/leave record. As always, advance departmental approval to use this leave must be obtained.
