University Human Resources is pleased to announce the new “UMD Policy on Parental Leave and Other Family Supports for Staff,” effective 1/1/2013. This new family-friendly policy is intended to help staff balance the demands of work and family following the birth or adoption of a child, and it complements a similar policy recently implemented for UMD faculty. Both policies are the result of a tremendous collaborative effort within the USM, and at the campus level with the Senate, and AFSCME.
