On Campus Part Time Jobs

Jobs on campus are a wonderful source of employment and experience for students.  Schedules are usually flexible in order to accommodate the student’s school schedule.  They also offer students a comfortable, familiar and supportive environment to cultivate important skills future employers will look for a such as leadership, problem-solving, communication and working as part of a team.

As not every on-campus job is advertised via eJobs, you should also explore the websites of on-campus employers that generally hire large numbers of students every year:

Often academic advisors, professors, and other university personnel will email students with available jobs on campus.  Keep your eyes peeled for these opportunities and be sure to apply on time, with a resume reviewed by the University Career Center and The President’s Promise.

Handshake is the University Career Center’s online career management tool for University of Maryland students and alumni. Handshake can be accessed online or through the app store.

Federal Work Study is a federally funded employment program available to both undergraduate and graduate students who have financial need.  If you receive Federal Work Study as a part of your financial aid packet, you should check their website for postings of part-time employment opportunities.
