Dental Insurance

Dental coverage is available to all individuals who are eligible for health benefits with the University.  You may be enrolled in one of the two dental plans.

Note

You cannot withdraw from the plan during the plan year if your selected dentist decides not to participate with the plan.  Dentists can elect not to participate at anytime.

Delta Dental – Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO)

Your prepaid, fixed copayment dental plan is similar to a health maintenance organization (HMO) plan. The plan focuses on oral health and preventive care. Preventive care — like routine cleanings and exams — is covered at little or no cost.

You have comprehensive coverage with no waiting periods, annual maximum or deductible, and there are no claim forms to fill out.

United Concordia – Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO)

United Concordia’s comprehensive PPO plan allows you to seek services from a large network of dentists. If your dentist doesn’t currently participate in our network, you may still use your dentist, but your out-of-pocket expenses are likely to be higher. Visiting one of our in-network dentists helps lower out-of-pocket costs and eliminates the need to fill out claim forms.
