Benefits Spotlight: Winter & Spring Term | Tuition Remission Portal Now Open

The UHR Office of Employee Benefits is now accepting tuition remission applications for the Winter semester (beginning on January 5, 2026) and the Spring semester (beginning on January 26, 2026).

Active faculty and staff employees must use the University System of Maryland (USM) Tuition Remission Application Portal to apply for tuition remission at all USM institutions for themselves and their eligible spouses and dependents. Paper tuition request forms are no longer accepted for USM institutions. Tuition remission applications must be submitted through the USM Portal by February 6, 2026, for the Spring Semester.

Employees must have an active, approved appointment in Workday with a start date no later than January 4, 2026, for Winter and January 25, 2026, for Spring Semesters in order for the employee to be eligible for tuition remission. Applications received after the deadline will require a late letter.
