Did you know that open enrollment is just around the corner? Mark your calendar forOctober 15, 2024, through November 8, 2024. As State of Maryland employee, it is important to understand the changes to our health care benefits before the open enrollment period starts.
The biggest change for 2025 is a new pharmacy benefit provider: MedImpact. To learn more about MedImpact please review pages 20-26 of the State of Maryland Health Benefits Guide.
Additional Important Updates for Open Enrollment:
- Wellness Activities Reset: 2025 marks a reset year for wellness activities and incentives.
- Healthcare FSA Increase: The annual limit for Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) will rise to $3,200. Please remember:
- An annual election is required to participate in FSAs.
- Healthcare funds can be utilized for employees and their eligible family members.
- Dependent care funds can be used for daycare expenses for dependents under 13.
- Free Flu Shots: Flu shots are available at most pharmacies nationwide at no cost!

In addition to The Health Benefits Open Enrollment Fair in the Stamp Student Union, Colony Ballroom, on Tuesday, October 15, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, the State of Maryland is hosting multiple virtual fair options for employees to learn more about each healthcare vendor, including United Healthcare, Care First, Kaiser Permanente, Delta Dental, United Concordia, MedImpact, MetLife, Maryland State Supplemental Retirement Plans (MSRP), and P&A Group.View session information and register here.
Keep in mind that your current benefit elections will carry over if you do not make a change, except for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), which require you to take action if you want an FSA for the 2025 plan year.
